Fleece wallpaper rightfully occupies a leading position among other natural materials because they are easy to glue and simple to care for later. And you do not have to change such wallpaper more than once every 7–10 years, as the paper wallpaper requires.
Wallpaper for painting has a range of clear advantages and some nuances that you should consider when choosing. For example, the glue needed for wallpaper pasting should be good quality and suitable for the selected type of fabric. In addition, it is not necessary to apply the substance to the wallpaper itself. On the contrary, you need to prime the walls with it, and then just before gluing, smear it on the gluing area of each cloth. Although this approach technically simplifies gluing, you should know all the main points of the procedure.

Proper preparation of the walls for gluing the fleece wallpaper

Here it is worth stating at once that fleece wallpaper has several varieties, including a variant of vinyl on this basis. Therefore, it is necessary to choose the adhesive and prepare it carefully for application. The only thing that unites this type of wallpaper is the gluing method, which involves spreading glue on the wall and not the wallpaper itself. Smooth the fleece wallpaper on the wall surface is necessary before the glue dries.
To make sure that the selected fleece wallpaper is indeed necessary to stick by this method, you should check the sign of the brush located parallel to the wall on the packaging.
If there is a marking in which the brush is horizontal concerning the plane, then you should apply the adhesive mixture to both the wall and the wallpaper.
The glue application process

Here it is worth stating at once that fleece wallpaper has several varieties, including a variant of vinyl on this basis. Therefore, it is necessary to choose the adhesive and prepare it carefully for application. The only thing that unites this type of wallpaper is the gluing method, which involves spreading glue on the wall and not the wallpaper itself. Smooth the fleece wallpaper on the wall surface is necessary before the glue dries.
To make sure that the selected fleece wallpaper is indeed necessary to stick by this method, you should check the sign of the brush located parallel to the wall on the packaging.
It is equally important to pay special attention to the condition of the walls on which the gluing will be carried out. They must be plastered, primed and cleaned of dust and dirt. In order to clean the walls on which the wallpaper is re-glued, it is necessary to sand them and then rinse with a detergent composition and rinse with water.
Once the surface is dry, you can apply the first priming coat of adhesive. This step is critical because it will largely determine the quality of gluing the selected wallpaper.

The glue for fleece wallpaper is also essential to properly prepare for use. Note that there are options for a ready-made adhesive mixture, but experts recommend choosing a dry option, as this allows you to adjust the consistency of the glue perfectly for yourself. To make such a variant of adhesive, you must take 4.5-5 liters of water and gradually pour this water into the powder, stirring gently until the consistency is optimal. Then leave the glue to swell.
Once the glue is completely ready and once again stirred, you can begin the gluing process of wallpaper to the wall.
To apply a layer of adhesive to the wall immediately before gluing, you will need a dedicated paint roller with a medium pile or wallpaper brush. Apply from bottom to top within the width of the roll.
Works on gluing the fleece wallpaper
Let us repeat once again. Fleece wallpaper does not smear with glue! It is significant because the wallpaper based on cellulose fibers, when adhesive applied directly on its surface, may swell and, consequently, lose its original dimensions and even its integrity. By applying glue to the surface of the wall, you maintain the effectiveness of the wallpaper and do not damage its structure.
It is necessary not only to cover with a layer of glue the very area where you will glue a sheet of wallpaper but also to cover a little more space.
This is required so that the edges of the wallpaper do not come off when drying. In addition, after smoothing the glued strip of wallpaper, you should carefully but gently with a thin brush to work their edges and places along the skirting board.
If you follow this simple technique and quality smoothing wallpaper during gluing, the result will be a beautiful wallpaper, which will maintain its excellent appearance for at least a decade.
Note that the structure and features of the fleece wallpaper allow you to glue them without preliminary preparation of wallpaper strips but directly from the roll. Of course, this method requires a particular skill and experience, but after gluing a few strips, the necessary understanding will form itself.
Smoothing wallpaper with a fleece backing is best to move from the middle to the edge. It will eliminate possible air pockets under the cloth. Cut off the excesses and correct the places where the pipes enter should be using a painting knife and a special spatula. After the wallpaper is completely dry, you can once again pass a painting knife to the places of installation of outlets, pipes and windows to correct the state of the wallpaper in these places.
Finally, we note that it is important to follow the technology wallpapering recommended precisely for fleece wallpaper. It will ensure the maximum positive result and the beauty of the interior as a whole.
